Buying vs. Leasing
Buying vs. Leasing
Should I Buy or Lease a New Cadillac
Once you’ve found the perfect Cadillac to buy, the next decision involves buying vs. leasing. With our Cadillac lease programs and changing interest rates on auto loans, choosing between buying and leasing isn’t always easy. If you are uncertain about the right choice for your budget and driving behaviors, the finance experts at Spitzer Cadillac in DuBois can help.
Benefits of Buying
When you finance a vehicle with a traditional auto loan, you are “buying” the car. Buying is the ideal option for drivers who have long commutes or enjoy road trips so that they can put unlimited miles on their vehicles. You can drive the car for as long as you choose. Drivers buying a vehicle can also modify it without limitations.
Financing an auto loan often includes paying a large down payment with the goal of owning the vehicle at the end of the loan term. When you buy a car, you have a monthly payment for a set amount for a period of time. Generally, when you finance, your monthly payments have a long term, typically between four and seven years. At the end of the loan, you own the vehicle. But, if you want a new vehicle before paying off the car, you can sell it and put the sales proceeds toward your loan balance.
At Spitzer Cadillac in DuBois, our finance department offers several flexible terms with local and national financing companies for buyers interested in car loans.
Benefits of Leasing
Leasing a vehicle is an excellent choice for drivers who like to get a new car every two or three years. When you lease, you drive the vehicle for a pre-set amount of time, then return it to the dealership. Lease payments are usually lower than monthly finance payments. When leasing a car, you do not put much money down.
Drivers who lease tend to drive fewer miles than those who buy, as the lease deal is based on a mileage limit, usually between 10,000 and 20,000 annual miles. If you go over your mileage limit, you do pay a fine.
People who lease like their vehicles do not feel the need to customize or add accessories to them. They also keep their cars clean and maintained, as excess wear and tear charges can add to your final payment at the end of the lease.
Your vehicle is always under warranty when you lease, as lease terms usually end before warranties expire.
